Essential Rewards is the “autoship” program from Young Living. Let’s face it, the term “autoship” FREAKS people out. It does me at least. Well, let me answer some questions about Essential Rewards and make it seem a “little” less scary.
First, why would one sign up for Essential Rewards? Well, if you ever want to get in on the “business” end of Young Living, you must do Essential Rewards. HOWEVER, when I first started using the oils, I had NO intention of doing the business end either, BUT I signed up for Essential Rewards…why?
I personally knew after using these oils that I would be ordering a minimum of 50PV ($50) a month. This is a new “way of life” for my family. I’m trying not to run to Motrin, Tylenol, Nyquil, Robitussin, Ambien, the list goes on and on, for every little thing my family faces. With that being said, I KNEW I wanted to invest in oils and learn what works best for my family. I knew there were going to be some oils that I NEVER wanted to be without (lemon, thieves, peppermint)…so for me $50 a month I knew I would do. I’m okay with cutting out a new outfit or eating out one less time to work on this baby step with my family. I really did look at it as an investment.
When you sign up for ER (Essential Rewards) you get a cheaper shipping rate, AND you earn credits for free oils. That sold me right there. Once you sign up, you earn 10% in free oils in months 1-6, you earn 15% in free oils months 7-12, and 20% in free oils months 13+. AMAZING. They calculate that based on your PV order total. So if you order 50PV, you earn $5 in free product credits in months 1-6. If you order 100PV you earn $10 in free product credits in months 1-6. PV is typically the $ amount, however there are a few things that have NO PV, like capsules, and diffusers and kits have a slightly less PV than $ amount. Oils though are usually equal in $ amount and PV amount.
Confused yet?
Okay, so you FIRST have to be a member with Young Living to qualify for ER purchases. Once you are a member you can register for ER. Some wait until their second month in, some do another order after their initial kit order….that is up to you and your budget. You can be a member and get distributor prices and NEVER participate in the ER program. Cool? You can sign up WHENEVER for the ER program.
Once you are an ER member, there is NO obligation to STAY an ER member. You aren’t signing your life away for a year. You aren’t going to have to pay a fee for “dropping out”…if you want to quit ER, you quit ER, no questions asked. That made me feel A LOT better. You are only required to meet the 50PV minimum in orders to maintain your ER shipments. You can skip ONE month of ER per calendar year if money is tight. If you ever do cancel, you need to make sure you redeem your free product credits BEFORE cancelling. You have to complete TWO ER orders before you can redeem points for free product.
Another thing I like about ER is that you can change your ship date each month. If you want it to ship on the 15th one month and the 29th the next, you just change it. No probelm at all. You also can choose what ships to you each month. I can order lemon, thieves, peppermint and orange one month and something totally different the next. You just have to remember to go in and manually change it each month.
It’s funny that the ER program is how I started doing the whole business end of this. You see, I wanted NOTHING to do with the business end. I just wanted to buy my oils, use them, buy my oils, use them. THEN, January came along and money was tight. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to meet my ER order, so I thought, hmmmm, I will post on FB and see if anyone wants to add to my order so I can “maintain” my ER order, my friends get it at a cheaper rate, and I earn 10% in free oils. Well I only wanted to get about $100 in orders, and I ended up getting orders for like TEN times that amount. INSANE. Who knew so many were interested in the oils. SO, that is how I got into the “business” end.
Don’t worry, YOU NEVER have to work the business end unless you WANT to. Signing up for ER does NOT mean that you will have to share YL with every person you meet. It is just great if you see you are making consistent orders over $50 a month, and you want to earn free oils. PERIOD. You get cheaper shipping. PERFECT. You just sit back and enjoy your oils and earn free product credits.
So, how do you sign up? When you login to Youngliving.com you look on the lefthand sidebar. Click where it says Essential Rewards, there you will follow the directions.
You will have to enter a CC number that you want them to autodraft each month OR a checking account. You then will choose what you want the ship date to be. Make sure you set that date, because it defaults to the next ship date. It will then require you to enter 50PV in product. You can alter those products up until the day of shipping. Mine alters daily as I add what I want and add others to my order. Make sure you ALWAYS save your changes. Young Living’s site will log you out if you have no activity for what seems like a very short amount of time. If it does that and your changes have not been saved, then you lose your changes. So always double check it’s saved.
It’s as easy as that. Simple simple. If you have ANY questions, please feel free to leave them here in the comment section. This took me a GOOD while to wrap my brain around. So ask as many questions as you need. Again, no pressure ever to sign up for ER. Just wanted to explain how it works. 🙂
